Europe Day | 9 May
On 9 May each year the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration of 1950 is marked through Europe Day.
This year's celebration comes as citizens prepare to elect a new European Parliament and it also marks 20 years since the 2004 enlargement of the EU, which saw ten countries joining in a period when Ireland held the EU Presidency.
Harry Clarke's Geneva Window
The Geneva Window: Through a Glass Darkly considers how Harry Clarke's master artwork came about and the controversial aspects that led to the Irish Government demurring in accepting the commission.
Our digital companion to the documentary sees Ardal O'Hanlon guide us in a deeper examination of each of the panels in the window.

Ireland is a parliamentary democracy. The National Parliament (Oireachtas) consists of the President and two Houses: Dáil Éireann (House of Representatives) and Seanad Éireann (the Senate) whose functions and powers derive from the Constitution of Ireland enacted by the people on 1 July 1937. The Houses of the Oireachtas are situated at Leinster House, Dublin.
