Vol. 80 No. 15

Death of a Deputy.

A Chinn Comhairle, with deep regret we learned, since we met here a week ago, of the unexpected death of Deputy Seamus Moore. Go ndeanaidh Dia trócaire ar a anam.

The late Deputy was associated with the movement for Irish Independence for many years prior to his entry into this House where, for the past thirteen years, he represented the constituency of Wicklow. The Deputy had the keenest sense of his responsibilities as a member of Dáil Eireann, and gave devoted service to his constituents. His interventions in debate were always marked by sound common sense and constructive suggestions, especially when industrial development and agriculture were under discussion. Deputy Moore's last public meeting was in support of the measures for national defence agreed upon by all Parties in the House.

Iarraim ort, a Chinn Comhairle, a chur in iúil dá ghaolta gur ró-mhéala le Dáil Eireann bás an Teachta.

Deputies rose in their places.
