Vol. 81 No. 1

Death of a Deputy.

Deputies will have learned with deep regret of the death, during the Recess, of Deputy Brooke Brasier. The late Deputy took a keen interest in public affairs both as a member of Dáil Eireann and as a member of several local bodies. His membership of these bodies, and his local associations, gave him a firsthand knowledge of the problems of local government, agriculture, land division and afforestation. When he intervened in the Dáil in discussions, on these subjects, his suggestions and criticisms were always well-informed and practical. As a member of the Public Accounts Committee for the past four years, he gave further additional and valuable service.

I ask you, A Chinn Comhairle, to convey to the late Deputy's, relatives the sincere sympathy of Dáil Eireann.

Deputies rose in their places.
