asked the Minister for Local Government his decision concerning the appeal against permission by the local authority to permit a development at Hackettsland, Killiney-Ballybrack, County Dublin; and the basis for his decision.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Planning Appeal.
Having considered the evidence and the report of the inspector who conducted the oral hearing I decided to allow this appeal. I accordingly made an order on the 8th April, 1970, refusing the grant of approval to the proposal of Templefin Estates Ltd. for the housing development of a site at Hackettsland, Killiney, County Dublin. The reasons for my decision were:—
(1)The construction of houses backing on to the proposed coast road would be visually displeasing and would mar the view of Killiney Hill from that road.
(2)The number and the location of the two-storey houses would give the appearance of an overdense development particularly as viewed from the proposed coast road.
(3)There were discrepancies between the detailed layout and the house plans and elevations.
(4)Two of the roads shown in the layout plans were inadequate to serve the proposed development.
(5)The proposal did not adequately provide for the development as an open space of the part of the site to the seaward side of the railway line.
