asked the Minister for Education whether it is proposed to close the national school at Knockaroo, Borris-in-Ossory, County Laois, this year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 53 and 54 together.
A decision to provide a new school at Killastmeestia replacing Killadooley national school has recently been taken in my Department, and arrangements towards this end will now follow.
Pending the provision of the new school it is proposed to erect a temporary classroom at the Killadooley school to facilitate the amalgamation with it of the Knockaroo school.
