This paper provides a summary of responses to a European Center for Parliamentary Research and Documentation (ECPRD) survey made to support the work of the Task Force on Safe Participation in Political Life. The request was comprised of ten questions focused on the measures being taken by parliaments to address harassment, abuse, and intimidation (HAI) of members of parliament. The request was sent to a total of 27 parliaments, which were the 26 EU nations (after Ireland) and the UK.

This briefing paper is provided in response to a request from the Houses of the Oireachtas' Taskforce on Safe Participation in Political Life.
