Health Committee to resume examination of impact of Brexit on health sector

The Committee will consider what Irish health care sector could look like post-Brexit, with a focus on how potential risks could be mitigated.

Chairperson of the Health Committee, Dr Michael Harty, said today, “There are many issues to be discussed around health services in the wake of the UK departure from the EU including the supply of medicines, co-operation on a North-South basis and the reciprocal rights associated with health care as part of the common travel area. Committee members will wish to engage with the HSE on contingency planning for a disorderly Brexit and what is being done to ensure that risks are mitigated.”
