A day in the life | L&RS

I’m first into the Members Reading Room in Leinster House this morning, so I make sure the room is ready for the Members who will use it today. I check and update the display of publications, books, journals and newspapers. The Library Reading Room is used by TDs and Senators of all parties and none

A day in the life | ISL team

We both begin our day’s work as Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpreters before we leave the house, with essential yoga stretches.

Sign language interpreters find themselves repeating a lot of the same movements and that can lend itself to repetitive strain injury.

A day in the life | Debates

The Debates Office comprises parliamentary reporters, editors and supporting staff.

In producing the Official Report they take in House and committee sittings, along with parliamentary questions.

A day in the life | Ushers

The early team ushers arrive at 7 a.m. to put on their uniforms, collect their radios and other equipment and get briefed on the day ahead.

They must be at their posts before the gates open at 7.30 a.m.
