Parliamentary Fellowship

To mark the 90th Anniversary of the first sitting of Dáil Éireann in 2009, the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission decided to award the inaugural Parliamentary Fellowship of the Houses of the Oireachtas.

The Fellowship is designed to:

• Advance the study of and contribute to scholarship on the Houses of the Oireachtas;
• Promote knowledge and understanding of the history and workings of the Houses of the Oireachtas.

Dr. Brian Hunt was the inaugural Parliamentary Fellow (2009 - 2010) and prepared the following report in fulfilment of the award:
