A number of organisations with an interest in education will attend the meeting of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Education and Skills tomorrow, Thursday, 2 December, to discuss the second level curriculum from a third level viewpoint.
Among the issues to be discussed are: how well does the curriculum at second level prepare students for college and how would they assess the Leaving Cert as a gateway to college?
Organisations attending the meeting include:
Irish Universities Association;
Higher Education Authority;
Union of Students in Ireland;
Teachers Union of Ireland;
Irish Federation of University Teachers;
Irish Business and Employers Confederation; and
Institutes of Technology Ireland.
This meeting will take place in Committee Room 2, Leinster House at 10am tomorrow, Thursday, 2 December.
