EU Affairs Committee to meet French parliamentary delegation

The Oireachtas Joint Committee on EU Affairs will tomorrow receive a delegation from the French National Assembly. The meeting is scheduled to discuss recent developments in the European Union.

29 May 2013

Chairman of the Committee Dominic Hannigan TD says: “A key priority of this Committee is to engage with fellow parliamentarians to ensure that the challenges being faced by Ireland and its citizens are fully understood across Europe.  The meeting with our French counterparts is expected to consider a range of developments in the European Union, including recent moves to bolster stability in the Eurozone and to respond to the pan-European youth unemployment crisis. We expect a fruitful exchange of perspectives on the optimum job creation and growth strategies that are now required for the European Union. We look forward to sharing views with the French delegation and hope to impart an understanding of what our Committee sees as the priorities for Ireland and the European Union in fostering economic recovery.”

The meeting with the French delegation commences at 11:30 am tomorrow 30 May in Committee Room 2, LH 2000 and can be followed live here.
