The Joint Committee on Education and Social Protection will convene tomorrow to engage with Mr. David Begg, Chairperson Designate, of the Pensions Authority. The Committee will have the chance to discuss his role and plans for the future as well as the wide range of issues that may arise for the Pensions Authority in the future.
26th January 2016
The meeting will commence at 1.00pm in Committee Room 3 tomorrow, Wednesday, 27th January 2016.
Committee Chair, Joanna Tuffy TD said, “Tomorrow’s meeting will allow us to focus on Mr. Begg’s strategic vision for the Pensions Authority during his proposed tenure. As a Committee we have previously held discussions on EU pension reform plans and how matters such as demographic change will impact on Irish society in the medium to long term.”
“We look forward to hearing Mr. Begg’s strategic plan as to how we can mitigate this risk and how we can grow a sustainable pension’s culture that provides for our citizens in the long term. This is a role that brings with it a difficult challenge and Members welcome this opportunity to engage with Mr. Begg in this regard.”
Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.
The meeting will also be broadcast live on Oireachtas TV on Sky Channel 574; Virgin Media Channel 207 and eir Vision Channel 504.
