The Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement will meet today at 3pm in Committee Room 2, Leinster House.

09 March 2017

The Committee will continue its examination the implications of Brexit for the Good Friday Agreement and its Institutions.

Dr. Duncan Morrow, Lecturer and Director of Community Engagement, University of Ulster, will address the Committee.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Chairperson, Kathleen Funchion TD said, “We look forward to hearing from Dr Duncan Morrow, who will brief us on the potential effects of Brexit and on inter-community relations and community cohesion in the North. With the ongoing uncertainty over Brexit and as we await the formation of a new Assembly, it is of utmost importance that the voices of affected communities are heard.  Dr. Morrow is a specialist in cross-community relationship building and his appearance before our Committee provides a valuable opportunity for discussion on how to reduce divisions.”
