Cyber security and OECD report on Commission for Regulation of Utilities on Communications Climate Action & Environment Committee agenda

Cybersecurity and the OECD report on the Commission for Regulation of Utilities will be on the Joint Committee on Communications, Climate Action and Environment at its meeting today, Tuesday, 27 March 2018.

The agenda for the meeting is:

Session A: Scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposal: COM (2017) 477  EU Cybersecurity Agency;
Session B: Consideration of the OECD Report on Driving Performance at Ireland’s Commission for Regulation of Utilities [Representatives from the Commission for Regulation of Utilities]

Chair of the Joint Committee on Communications, Climate Action and Environment Hildegarde Naughton TD: “Tomorrow the Committee will carry out scrutiny of COM (2017) 477 which is a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on ENISA, the ‘EU Cybersecurity Agency’, and repealing Regulation (EU) 526/2013, and on Information and Communication Technology cybersecurity certification.

In the second part of our meeting will consider the OECD report Driving Performance at Ireland’s Commission for Regulation of Utilities with representatives from the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU). The CRU is responsible for regulating energy markets, energy safety and public water and wastewater services. We will discuss the report’s assessment of the CRU and its recommendation for the Commission so that it can meet the challenges in the years ahead.”
