• 5 March 2014: Report on the Draft General Scheme of an Education (Admission to Schools) Bill
    The report calls for first-come-first-served school waiting lists to be phased out, given that they can discriminate against newcomers to an area. With the so-called "section 29" appeals process to be replaced, the Committee is also calling for an independent and transparent appeals process, which could possibly be provided for on a regional basis.
  • 16 January 2014: Report on the General Scheme of a Gender Recognition Bill 2013
    The report calls for upcoming legislation on gender recognition to confer the right to apply for a Gender Recognition Certificate from 16 years old. Provisions in the Draft General Scheme of the legislation stipulate a minimum age of 18 years.
