‌Business Committee

The Business Committee agrees the weekly agenda of business for the Dáil. It meets once a week and lays a report which will list the business for the following week

The Business Committee considers, among other things, proposals for-

• dealing with items of business, including speaking times, 
• taking legislation in the Dáil and Select Committees;
• sitting times and adjournments
• selection of business (Private Members’ Bills or Committee reports) for Thursday afternoons (the replacement for the fortnightly Friday sittings).

Members wishing to have their Bill or a Committee report considered on a Thursday afternoon should give notice to the Business Committee.
