The function of the Committee is to consider and report to Dáil Éireann on expenditure, administration and policy of the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government, as well as bodies under the aegis of that Department Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government. In addition, Bills and legislation along with European Union matters that relate to the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government or those bodies fall within the remit of the Committee.
