The Parliamentary Standard Allowance has two strands as follows:
In line with the decision of the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission, records of allowance payments to Members of both Dáil and Seanad Éireann are now published to the website on a monthly basis.
Payment of the Travel and Accommodation Allowance (TAA) is verified by attendance at Leinster House. Members must attend a minimum of 120 days annually to receive full payment of the TAA. For information on the Parliamentary Standard Allowance and the system for recording attendance for the verification of the Travel and Accommodation Allowance click here.
An end of year statement is published following the certification of expenses by Members. The statements for 2011 relate to two periods, the pre-election and post- election periods. The publication of these records supplements the existing monthly publication of Members expenses.
