Housing and Residential Tenancies (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2026

Bill entitled an Act to provide for additional requirements, relating to residency in the State, to be satisfied in order to be eligible for social housing support; to provide for an appeal of certain decisions relating to social housing support; for those purposes to amend the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009; to provide for additional eligibility criteria for access to certain services provided to homeless persons under section 10 of the Housing Act 1988; to provide for withdrawal of such services in certain cases; to provide for an appeal in respect of such withdrawal; for those purposes to amend the Housing Act 1988; to make provision in relation to the conduct of mediations, adjudications and Tribunal hearings, and the determination of disputes, by the Residential Tenancies Board, and the enforcement of such determinations; to increase the penalties for summary offences and to provide for the service of fixed payment notices in respect of certain offences under the Residential Tenancies Act 2004; to provide that the Residential Tenancies Act 2004 shall not apply to certain dwellings; for those and other purposes to amend that Act; and to provide for related matters.
