In June 2023, Committee members attended the Conference of State Parties, an annual event organised by the United Nations during which participants discussed the implementation of the UNCRPD under the theme "Harmonizing national policies and strategies with the CRPD: achievements and challenges".

The Committee indicates that the public sector equality and human rights duty has the potential to ensure public bodies undertake equality and human rights assessments on legislation, policies and services so that they can be properly aligned with the United Nations convention.
