The Committee considers all disability matters including monitoring Ireland's implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities.
It is a privilege for the Committee to hear directly from people with disabilities, and their representative organisations in continuing to inform the work of the Committee.
On the 25 September 2020 the Establishment Order was agreed by Seanad Éireann for the set-up of the Select Committee. The Committee on Parliamentary Privileges and Oversight published a report (PDF) amending the Order of Reference for the Committee and was agreed in the Seanad on the 24 May 2021.
The Orders of Reference of the Dáil Select Committee were agreed by Dáil Éireann of 22 September 2020 and amended on the 21 April 2021, following reports from the Committee on Standing Orders and Dáil Reform on the 17 September 2020 (PDF) and 14 April 2021 (PDF).
