Our role

Committee on Members' Interests of Dáil Éireann

The Select Committee on Members' Interests of Dáil Éireann performs the functions conferred on it by the Ethics in Public Office Acts 1995 and 2001 and Standing Order 121.

These functions are to
•    draw up and publish guidelines concerning steps to be taken by Members to ensure compliance by them with the Acts
•    draw up a code of conduct for Members
•    advise Members on the provisions of the Acts
•    investigate alleged contraventions of the Acts by Members
