The Committee on Parliamentary Privileges and Oversight considers matters relating to Standing Orders and parliamentary privileges attaching to membership of Seanad Éireann and oversees procedure generally. The Committee now also acts periodically as the Committee on Remit Oversight. The Committee was formerly titled the Committee on Procedure and Privileges.
Response to the judgments of the Supreme Court in the Kerins case
In December 2020 the Committee, with the Committee on Parliamentary Privileges and Oversight (Dáil Éireann), published a joint report on the response of the Houses of the Oireachtas to the judgments of the Supreme Court in the Kerins case.
