Standing Order 131 Select Committee of Dáil Éireann

Pending the establishment of the sectoral committees of the 33rd Dáil, the Standing Order 131 Select Committee of Dáil Éireann is established.

The transitional committee is formed as an interim measure to exercise Oireachtas powers under the Lisbon Treaty, in particular to ensure that EU draft legislative acts adhere to the "principle of subsidiarity" as defined under the Treaty. The committee will cease to exist when the Oireachtas sectoral committees are established later in 2020.

The adoption of Dáil Standing Order 131 establishes the select committee.

See the Dáil Éireann Standing Orders.

Read the motion in the Dáil to establish the committee.
