Working Group of Committee Cathaoirligh

The Working Group is a Committee which considers matters such as the effectiveness of the Committee system, matters of common interest to Committee Cathaoirligh and proposals which affect the delivery of services to Committees. It is empowered to make recommendations on the apportionment of money for consultancy and travel and on the allocation of accommodation for Committee meetings.

Most of the committee's meetings are held in private. However, its orders of reference (Dáil Standing Order 120/Seanad Standing Order 107) state that the Taoiseach shall appear before the committee twice a year, spring and autumn, to discuss matters of public policy. These engagements are in public.
