Working Group of Committee Cathaoirligh

The Working Group of Committee Cathaoirligh's main purpose is to meet, liaise and consult on matters affecting services to Committees and on matters of common interest to Cathaoirligh (chairs).

The Working Group is empowered to make recommendations on the apportionment of money for consultancy and travel and on the allocation of accommodation for Committee meetings. Most of the Committee's meetings are held in private. However, the terms of reference of the committee state that the Taoiseach shall appear before the committee twice a year, spring and autumn, to discuss matters of public policy.

The powers of the Working Group of Committee Cathaoirligh are derived from Dáil Éireann Standing Order 120 and Seanad Éireann Standing Order 107.
