COMMITTEE OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTS debate -
Thursday, 16 Sep 2021

Business of Committee

Apologies have been received from Deputy Cormac Devlin. Deputy Alan Dillon may be joining us late because of parliamentary duties.

I want to begin by welcoming you all to the meeting. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only the clerk, support staff and I are in the committee room. Members of the committee are attending remotely from within the precincts of Leinster House. This is due to constitutional requirement that in order to participate in the public meetings, members must be physically present within the confines of Leinster House. While we hope to return to more traditional meeting arrangements soon, I will ask members to confirm their location before contributing to ensure that they are adhering to this constitutional requirement. The Comptroller and Auditor General, Mr. Seamus McCarthy, is a permanent witness to this committee, and he is joining us remotely.
