The MINISTER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT moved for a decree empowering the Ministry to put into operation such legislation of the British Government in regard to the work of Local Bodies as they might deem desirable, and to amend the legislation where necessary.
After considerable discussion as to whether the motion was in order or not, it was withdrawn.
