Vol. S2 No. 9

PEACE PROPOSALS.

I have been informed that there is still a possibility of agreeing on a basis of discussion, and I would ask the House to request the members of the Committee to meet tonight again. Personally, I feel that nothing should be left undone to try to get the Committee to continue deliberations until they finally see that there is no possibility of agreement. I have been told that there is still a possibility and I will ask the House to agree to the request that the Committee meet again to-night.

I do not think a motion to that effect is necessary, because if there is any possibility of proceeding to a conclusion the desire of the House remains unchanged.

Perhaps it may be necessary to request them to meet?

Seeing that we will have these reports to-morrow morning I do not think we could do anything useful now by continuing to sit on and so far as I can gather from the the Committee, on both sides, that is their impression too. If further action on their part should be desired by the House, that action could be taken.

Could we have the report to-morrow, sometime previous to the sitting of the Dáil?

The report will be very brief.

The House adjourned at 6.50 p.m. till 3 p.m. on the following day.
