Vol. 1 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHERN UNIONISTS.

SEOIRSE GHABHAIN UI DHUBHTHAIGH

To ask the Minister for Home Affairs on what date the Heads of Agreement between the late President and himself, on the one hand, and the Southern Unionists, on the other, were agreed upon between the parties thereto, and who were the representatives of the Southern Unionists who made the Agreement.

Mr. KEVIN O'HIGGINS

The Agreement in question was made about the 10th June last, and the people who represented the Southern Unionists were as follows:—

Most Reverend Doctor Bernard (Provost of Trinity),

Lord Donoughmore,

Lord Midleton,

Mr. Andrew Jameson.

Mr. GAVAN DUFFY

May I ask if the Agreement were written or verbal?

Mr. K. O'HIGGINS

In a sense, both; there were certain negotiations and certain arguments across the table, and, finally, the draft Agreement was written.
