Vol. 1 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - HOUSES IN BALLINASLOE.

TOMAS O CONAILL

To ask the Minister for Local Government whether his attention has been called to a report issued by Dr. T.J. Rossiter, Medical Officer, Ballinasloe, to the effect that the houses in nine named districts in the town of Ballinasloe are unfit for human habitation, owing to the want of proper accommodation—back-yards and sanitary arrangements—and whether in view of the great danger to the public health which must arise from such conditions, he will take immediate steps to see that the landlords or whoever may be responsible, shall provide proper sanitary accommodation for these houses until such time as they can be replaced by newly-built houses.

Mr. BLYTHE

The report referred to cannot be traced from the particulars given in the question. The complaint will, however, be investigated locally by one of the Medical Inspectors of the Ministry as soon as possible.
