Vol. 1 No. 28

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - CO. GALWAY POOR LAW OFFICIALS AND AMALGAMATION.

To ask the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that there are many complaints being made by officers of Unions in Co. Galway, who lost their positions under the Amalgamation Scheme, against the amount of Compensation awarded them by the County Board; whether he has received many such complaints, and if he is prepared to order a special inquiry into the awards made in Co. Galway.

Some objections in regard to the amount of compensation awarded to Officers of Unions in County Galway who lost their positions under the Amalgamation Scheme have been received. Each objection is investigated fully as it arises.

Might I ask the Minister if he has decided in regard to these objections, or if the Ministry has come to any decision regarding them?

In some cases.
