Vol. 2 No. 6

ADAPTATION OF BRITISH ENACTMENTS BILL. - CLAUSE 18.

I move Clause 18 as follows:—

"Orders to be laid before the Oireachtas. "Every Order made by the Executive Council under this Act shall be laid before each House of the Oireachtas forthwith and unless and until a resolution is passed by either House of the Oireachtas within the next subsequent twenty-one days on which that House has sat after such order is laid before it annulling such order, such order shall have effect as if enacted in this Act, but no such resolution shall operate to prejudice the validity of anything previously done under such order."

The amendment I move is merely a matter of phrasing, it is that the words "annulling such order" shall follow the word "resolution" in line 45 before the word "is," so that the Clause will read: "Until a resolution annulling such order is passed."

Amendment agreed to.
Motion made and question put:—"That Clause 18, as amended, stand part of the Bill."
Agreed.
