Vol. 2 No. 14

- CLAREMORRIS AND COLLOONEY RAILWAY.

To ask the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he would consider the possibility of reopening the railway line between Claremorris and Collooney, if not under the control of the Great Southern Railway, then under the control, temporary or otherwise, of the Midland and Great Western Railway, since it is more strictly part of the Midland and Great Western system of service, which is now working. Thus to relieve the discomfort and inconvenience that the people of the district have suffered and are suffering as a consequence of the present stoppage?

The Great Southern and Western Railway Company as well as the Midland Great Western Railway Company is working, but previous attempts to open this line have been prevented by armed forces. The Minister, Mr. McGrath, is making inquiries as to whether it is now possible to re-start a service.
