Vol. 2 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - AGRICULTURAL HOLDINGS (PROVISION FOR SOLDIERS AND SAILORS).

To ask the Minister for Agriculture whether the provisions in regard to agricultural holdings under the Irish Land (Provision for Soldiers and Sailors) Act, 1919, were cancelled or postponed in February, 1922, and if so for what reason, and what are the prospects of making further use of that Section of the Act.

The facts with regard to the stoppage of further action under Section I. of the Irish Land (Provision for Sailors and Soldiers) Act, 1919, are as stated in the question—that is to say, they are postponed.

On account of the acute state of feeling existing in the country on the subject of the provision of the holdings in question the Provisional Government on the 4th February, 1922, made the order referred to.

It is not now possible to state what, if any, further action will be taken in regard to this Section of the Act.

Mr. O'BYRNE

The matter will not be dropped, and will have the Minister's further consideration?

It is having my consideration. and is not being dropped.
