Vol. 2 No. 22

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - DISMISSAL OF CAHIRCIVEEN POSTAL OFFICIALS.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether three members of the permanent Post Office staff at Cahirciveen were served with notices of immediate dismissal on December 22nd, 1922, by Comdt. W. Griffin, O.C., Cahirciveen, without complaint made; by what authority was this action taken; what were the reasons for these dismissals; whether the ladies concerned had signed a declaration of allegiance to the Government; and whether it is not a fact that testimony as to the loyalty of these ladies can be obtained from reliable local citizens.

Enquiries are being made into the matter, but they have not yet been completed.
