Vol. 2 No. 26

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - SOLDIERS' DEPENDENTS' ALLOWANCE.

To ask the Minister for Defence if he has received several applications for dependents' allowance on behalf of Thomas Bartley, Pound Street, Birr, Offaly (joined at Birr Castle Barracks, 8th September, 1922), now serving in Rahan Barracks, Tullamore, Offaly, and if he will have the matter enquired into specially and settled without delay.

Two applications have been received. The claim has been disallowed on the ground that the claimant, Private Bartley's mother, was not supported for a reasonable period prior to the enlistment of her son to the minimum extent required by regulations, namely, 12s. per week.
