Vol. 2 No. 29

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - RELEASE OF PRISONER.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Myles Joyce, now held a prisoner in M. Block, Pump Square, Custume Barracks, Athlone, was arrested on August 16th, while at work as a garden-hand in the Marquis of Sligo's demesne, Westport, signed the form of undertaking for release in the following month, and has three times requested the Governor of the prison to have his case investigated, but has received no answer to any communications, and is still detained in custody; and to enquire whether the Minister will order the release of this prisoner, who is the only support of his parents, in order that he may get back his employment before the Spring.

The case of Mr. Joyce has now been re-considered and his release has been ordered.
