Vol. 2 No. 32

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - DEPENDENT'S ALLOWANCE.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether repeated applications have been made for dependent's allowance on behalf of Quartermaster Sergeant Laurence Collins, Durhamstown, Navan, presently stationed at Collinstown Camp, whether the only sum on account of this allowance received by his mother was £1, although he is serving since May last; what is the explanation of the delay in payment of this allowance, and whether the Minister will take steps to have this matter settled without delay.

Two applications were received, and £1 was paid on account on the 16th December shortly after an application on the proper form was received. Since then the delay has been mainly due to difficulties met with during local investigation. The case has now been finally settled.
