Vol. 2 No. 35

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - COMMANDEERED BICYCLE.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that in spite of his statement in reply to a question in the Dáil, on October 11th, 1922, that instructions had been issued for receipts to be given for all bicycles commandeered in Ballinasloe, no receipt has yet been given to Mr. Thomas Brogan, of Ballaghadereen, whose bicycle was commandeered on October 2nd by a flying column under Captain Mitchell of Boyle, and whether, in view of the fact that application was made on four occasions from October 12th, 1922, to January 8th, 1923, with out any result, he will cause Mr. Brogan's bicycle to be returned to him, if it is still fit for return, or, if it is not, to cause compensation to be given therefor.

Enquiries are being made, but they have not yet been completed.
