Vol. 2 No. 35

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - DRUMREE (CO. MEATH) INCIDENT.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether Mr. James McCormack, Pelletstown, Drumree, Co. Meath, who had actively assisted Oglaigh na hEireann in the preservation of order during the war with England, was arrested on January 16th, on what was stated to be "information received," and after being held up to public odium in a lorry driven round the district, was released because there was no charge against him; what action the Minister has taken in this matter; and what steps he proposes to take to ensure that there will be no repetition of such incidents in other parts of the country.

Enquiries are being made, but they have not yet been completed.
