Vol. 2 No. 35

[WRITTEN ANSWERS.] - VETERINARY SURGEON'S MOTOR CAR.

To ask the Minister for Defence if he is aware that a Ford car was taken on September 6th, 1922, by the National Forces from Mr. William L. Smyth, M.R.C.V.S., Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo; that a claim for compensation was lodged last November with the Army Finance Department, and as Mr. Smyth is very seriously hampered in his work as a Veterinary Surgeon by the loss of his car, will the Minister see that his claim receives immediate attention.

I am informed that the car was not taken but was asked for by our troops and given by Mr. Smyth on the 6th September. A claim for compensation has been received and is being investigated. The investigations will be expedited.
