Vol. 2 No. 35

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - NON-STAMPING OF INSURANCE CARDS.

To ask the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the Meath County Council has declined to stamp the insurance cards of the employees of the Council for the second period of 1921, and the first period of 1922, thereby causing insured employees to be deprived of insurance benefit; whether he has ascertained the cause of this refusal on the part of the Council; and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

This matter has been brought to my notice. As the Meath County Council have refused to carry out their duties, notwithstanding repeated representations made to them, the matter is now in the hands of the National Health Insurance Commission, who are considering legal proceedings.
