Vol. 2 No. 36

[ WRITTEN ANSWERS. ] - DEPENDANTS' CLAIMS.

DOMHNALL O MUIRGHEASA

To ask the Minister for Defence if he has received several applications for dependants' allowance from Mrs. Quigley, of Dublin Road, Nenagh, on account of her son, Joseph Quigley, who entered the National Army in July, 1922, and who, prior to his enlistment, was contributing two pounds per week towards his mother's upkeep, and will he see that this claim receives immediate attention.

Three applications have been received from Mrs. Quigley, whose claim is under investigation locally. The necessary enquiries will be expedited.

DOMHNALL O MUIRGHEASA

To ask the Minister for Defence if he has received a claim for dependants' allowance on account of Private John Morrissy, No. 12994, at present stationed at Ballina, Co. Mayo, and as this man was contributing to the upkeep of his mother prior to his enlistment, will he see that payment of the claim is expedited.

Mrs. Morrissy's claim has been disallowed on the ground that her son was not in the habit of contributing regularly to her support for a reasonable period prior to his enlistment.
