Vol. 2 No. 40

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (TEMPORARY PROVISIONS) BILL, 1923. - REPORT.

I beg to move that the "Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1923," be received for final consideration.

I have a number of amendments to propose, but during the discussion on the Committee Stage of the Bill I think there was more or less agreement as to their general trend. The first amendment is to provide, in the case of a new scheme before it is approved or confirmed after the passing of this Act, that notice shall be given to all the people concerned. I do not know that in the present circumstances, even apart from this provision, that there would be any danger that the provisions of the scheme would not be fairly well known.

On a point of order, A Chinn Comhairle, would it not be well to discuss these amendments in Committee?

I have no objection.

Question put: "That proposed amendments to Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1923, be considered in Committee."
Agreed.
