[WRITTEN ANSWERS.] - HIRED MOTOR CLAIM AGAINST MILITARY.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that a Ford car, belonging to Mr. James Mongey, Enfield, Co. Meath, was hired by the Military on various dates last year; whether a debt of £39 7s. was thereby incurred; whether after repeated applications Mr. Mongey has received only £6 5s. 6d., in payment of this account; whether Mr. Mongey has on several occasions applied for this money to the Paymasters at Trim and Portobello, without result; and whether the Minister for Defence can give an assurance of an early settlement of this account.

Payment has now been made in settlement of Mr. Mongey's account.
