Vol. 2 No. 44

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - LISDUFF BRIDGE.

To ask the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his attention has been drawn to the destruction and present condition of the Lisduff (County Boundary) overhead bridge which is causing a good deal of inconvenience to traders and others in Laoighis and Tipperary; whether he is aware that the G.S. & W.R. Company have declined to take any steps to effect the necessary repairs; upon whom does the liability to repair such bridges rest, and will he take the necessary steps to compel such persons or body to effect the necessary repairs?

The Minister for Industry and Commerce has placed the answers to his questions in my hands. The answer to this one is:—The question of liability in this case depends on the provisions of the private Act of Parliament under which the bridge was constructed. It will be necessary to examine the terms of the Act and I will communicate the result to the Deputy.
