Vol. 2 No. 44

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - AN ATHLONE PRISONER.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

To ask the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that James Logan, Athlone, who was arrested on March 3rd, and is detained in Custume Barracks, is a man of 74 years of age, and that he can secure the necessary sureties; and whether the Minister will release this man if these guarantees are given?

The Minister for Defence has asked me to answer his questions. The answer to this question is: Mr. Logan is in custody under remand awaiting trial before the District Court. Permission was given on the 21st inst., in view of his age to accept bail offered.
