Vol. 2 No. 46

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - BOY SHOT IN GALWAY.

To ask the Minister for Defence if he is yet in a position to say whether he has concluded his inquiries into the circumstances in which a young boy named Keyes was shot in Galway, last August, by a member of the National Forces, and, if he has done so, will he state what action it is proposed to take with regard to the matter compensating this young boy for the terrible injuries he received?

Patrick Keyes was wounded on the date mentioned by the accidental discharge of the rifle of a soldier who was on sentry duty at the County Club, Galway, and who was endeavouring to induce the boy to go away. The matter has been investigated, and the question of compensation is now under consideration.
