Vol. 2 No. 46

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - DAMAGED MOTOR CARS AND LORRIES.

To ask the Minister for Defence whether he is aware of the numerous motor cars and motor lorries, now nearly all in a derelict condition, which may be found at the various military posts and stations in Cork City and County; if so, will the Minister have same reconditioned immediately, and any cars not required, returned promptly to their owners; whether the Minister will consider the advisability of sending all those damaged cars and lorries into Haulbowline Dockyard on the 1st prox., where they can be efficiently, economically, and speedily repaired; and, if so, will the Minister confer with Minister for Finance.

I am aware that there are a number of motor cars lying in a bad condition at military stations in Cork City and County. The questions of the repair of the cars and their return to their owners are receiving attention. The suggestion of effecting any necessary repairs in Haulbowline Dockyard will be carefully considered.
